Plan on the Unit 7 Test next Tuesday/Wednesday.  After that, your Travel Poster will be due, so start working on it now!  Remember, you have to present 4 places you would like to visit.  Show a picture of your destinations and tell us why you want to go there.  Present some mathematical facts about the places you choose.

8th Grade Information (April 19-23)

Please join us for mass at 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday for the school mass.  8B is leading the mass and presenting a skit on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Best wishes to our 2nd Grade Buddies as they make their First Communion on April 24 and 25.

8th Grade Math (April 19-23)

8th graders are finishing their Unit 6 Test on Monday.  Then we will begin a unit that is quite heavy in algebra concepts.  I’d like to get through the first half of this unit before the students take the Diocesan Assessment Test, which must be completed by May 1.

7th Grade Math (April 19-23)

After spending most of last week on different types of graphs, this week’s math topics will be more varied.  We’ll be working with percents as we investigate our resting and active heart rates.  Those percents will help us identify our target heart rate, as well.  We will also review customary units of capacity (Tablespoons, cups, pints, quarts, gallons) and inequalities as we explore information on fat, carbohydrates, and protein.

7A Math is currently a day behind 7B.  Their Monday assignment is…

7A Monday:  Misleading Graphs
Do p. 467 (21, 23-32)

Hopefully, we can get the 2 classes back on the same schedule soon.  Until then, 7A students should complete the assignment from the day listed previously.

Monday:  Percent Equations
Do p. 480 (1-9)

Tuesday:  Percent of Change
Do p. 480-482 (10-22, 25-32)

Plan on the Unit 7 Quiz early next week.

6th Grade Math (April 19-23)

I’ve heard from some of the 6th graders that they are enjoying this unit!  Finding areas of different polygons is easy, once you understand the formula to use.  On Tuesday of this week, 6th graders will take the Unit 7 Quiz.  Then we will move on to finding circumference and area of a circle.

8th Grade Math (April 12-16)

We will finish Unit 6 this week with a test on Wednesday/Friday.  Unfortunately, we must postpone creating our model town in order to cover important topics in Unit 7 before taking the Diocesan Assessment Tests.  The Diocesan Assessments must be completed before May 1, so we must be efficient with our time.  I hope to allow the 8th graders time near the end of the year to make the model town.
